New York AA: Alcoholics Anonymous Events in New York

In New York, AA meetings seem to have the same draw (if not more) as the hot night clubs. Dedicated to the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous in New York, the New York Inter-Group provides a wealth of knowledge, not only about New York AA meetings, but also public information services, information about alcoholism and much more.
Along with several downloadable forms, the New York Inter-Group also publishes a monthly New York AA newsletter dealing with news, meeting and treatment facilities about Alcoholics Anonymous in New York state.
The following are just some of the 2009 New York AA events.
The Big Meeting:
An open three-speaker meeting that celebrates the 74th anniversary of Alcoholics Anonymous’ founding date, June 10th, 1935 (the date of AA co-founder Dr. Bob’s last drink).
The Corrections and Treatment Facilities Committee Literature Fund Dinner:
The committee’s annual and only fundraiser event, the net proceeds are used solely to purchase AA Conference approved literature that is distributed in the treatment and correctional facilities it services.
The Bill W. Dinner:
This event celebrates the 75th anniversary of AA co-founder Bill W.’s sobriety date (December 11th, 1934). It is New York Inter-Group’s only annual fundraiser and the net proceeds help keep the doors open, the phones answered, etc.
