Anger
Anger is poisonous. Just as an uncontrolled infection invades the body, likewise irritation consumes the soul. It is nearly impossible to fully conquer one’s rage. Perhaps it is one of the prices we pay for being human. But we can triumph over it. Once placed under God’s care we can move forward with our recovery and finding serenity. After honestly working the first three steps we can develop that relationship with our Higher Power to allow us to intuitively know how to handle situations that use to baffle us. We seek renewal and independence, not control or power. We have to work hard at it. Little annoyances became major resentments without much effort, but in recovery with much effort we can learn to be aware of our anger before we hurt someone, either physically or verbally. With God’s Power and the 12 Steps we find a new outlook and have better tools for dealing with our defects.
